Biography

Melody Kramer has over 25 years of litigation experience, including seven years of patent infringement litigation. Melody received her Juris Doctor, Order of Barristers, from University of Nebraska College of Law in 1993. Prior to attending UNL, Melody received a B.A. in Music from Union College in Lincoln, NE.

Melody has managed her own litigation practice since 1995 where she worked on patent litigation, business litigation, contract disputes, real estate, discrimination, defamation and personal injury matters. Her litigation experience includes over 36 trials and some appeals. Melody started her career as a Deputy Public Defender and as a Special Prosecutor for crimes against children on the Omaha Indian Reservation.

Melody is a seasoned writer, publishing articles and blog posts on numerous legal issues over the years. She is a co-author of two prosecution manuals for the Nebraska County Attorney’s Association, and author of the award-winning “Lawyers Decoded” and “Green Leaves and Brownies: A Paradoxical Explanation of Cannabis Laws.”

She is admitted to practice law in California and inactive in Nebraska.
